Reasons why Redwood Area Chamber decided to organize a Job Fair:  In a recent survey done by the MN Chamber of Commerce, “Hiring and Retaining Workforce” was ranked as the #2 current “Biggest Barrier facing MN Businesses”, outranked only by the “Shutdown as a result of Covid”.  Look, it’s pretty simple.  If businesses can’t find the employees they need here, they will not be able to produce enough product(s) to continue in business.  That scenario tragically leads to business shutdown or business relocation (to find people somewhere else) – which all means less tax base for the community.

Other items for BUSINESSES to note:  Information about this Redwood Area Job Fair will also be made available to students at Redwood Valley HS.  A variety of HS students will be invited to attend – specifically the Employability Class and Careers/Workplace Communications Class, and HS Seniors and Juniors.  This is NOT a career fair, however, through the Chamber’s workforce development/Business Education Network partnership agreement with Redwood Area Schools, one of our mission goals is to get local students (future workforce) in front of local businesses as much as possible.   Times we are considering are 11:30-Noon & 2-3pm, which is why we are asking job fair businesses to consider having their booth set up by 11:30am.

Redwood Area Job Fair is presented by: Redwood Area Chamber and Tourism, KLGR and AlphaMedia, and Southwest Minnesota Private Industry Council
