Annual Christmas by Candlelight events planned for last Friday evening, were postponed due to blizzard conditions. A number of these family-friendly events have been rescheduled for this Saturday, November 26. “Christmas by Candlelight is known as the kick-off to the local holiday shopping season in the Redwood Area, and although our Minnesota weather got in the way, there are great reasons to shop local this Saturday in Downtown and all over the Redwood Area,” said Anne Johnson, Executive Director of Redwood Area Chamber & Tourism.
Christmas by Candlelight is officially known as the “Annual Kick-off to the Holiday Shopping Season” in the Redwood Area and will take place Friday evening, November 18, 2016, and this year have activities and events ongoing from 4-8pm.With the holidays fast approaching, people start to do their Christmas Shopping early, so this November 18 kick-off is a good reminder for people to Think Local and Shop Local – for the holidays, but also 365 days a year!
We are also proud to bring back the 3rd Annual Holiday Parade of Lights, on 2nd and Washington Streets, also in Downtown Redwood Falls. Businesses, non-profits, organizations, and other groups or individuals are encouraged to participate in the Parade of Lights.
New this year — ” The Bremer Warming House ” – – where parade unite participants can warm up with hot chocolate and cookies before the parade at Bremer Bank. “The Holiday Parade of Lights, as part of the annual Christmas by Candlelight celebrations and kicked-off the holiday shopping season, is a great place for businesses and other organizations to promote themselves, encourage people to shop local, and show people what’s new in their business. It’s a fabulous advertising and a whole lot of fun!” Parade route map can be found HERE.
