Summary
The ECO and Documentation Specialist is responsible for daily processing of document change orders. This position interfaces with Engineering, Development, Manufacturing, and Quality departments to assist in the processing of all document control and ECO changes.
Essential Functions
1. Performs data entry functions as required by the MRP system and other part/product data systems.
2. Coordinates and assists with processing engineering change orders (ECOs).
3. Processes engineering project requests (EPRs) as assigned by the Design Engineering Manager.
4. Maintains shipping, UPC, and import/export codes.
5. Creates, reviews, and updates assembly and packaging procedures as needed.
6. Reviews and updates customer assembly instructions as needed.
7. Gathers product weights and shipping sizes of products and enters information into the database.
8. Runs periodic error checks to ensure accuracy and corrects any errors found.
9. Sets up and runs queries in MS Access to gather information for mass changes or other requests.
10. Sets up and runs mass imports into Fourth Shift and other systems.
11. Sends out pre-production order requests for upcoming products and product release emails.
12. Maintains hyperlinks to engineering drawings and other documents to ensure accessibility to other departments via the Intranet.
13. Maintains Jonti-Craft’s UL SPOT product database for Greenguard certification.
14. Monitors document change order approval/implementation and assists in resolving issues.
15. Evaluates documents for accuracy and completeness.

Qualifications
· Working knowledge or ability to learn the Fourth Shift MRP software.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
· Minimum of two years’ experience in similar work preferred. Manufacturing experience required.
· Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
· Excellent process and product knowledge.
· Ability to complete tasks consistently and accurately without continual direct supervision.
· Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
· Attention to detail.
Working conditions
Our office environment is a typical office environment does not substantially expose workers to adverse environmental conditions. The position may require occasional visits to the shop floor. Our production environment includes a variety of environmental elements including loud noise, dust and aromas. While this is an indoor operation, temperatures will vary with the outdoor temperature and some areas of the shop may be hot or cold.
Physical requirements
Office positions are usually sedentary. The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time. Ability to sit for long periods of time is required. The noise level in the office is typically quiet to moderate. Occasional brief trips to the production floor may be required.
