We currently have an opening on the following shift: 
6:00am-6:00pm, Thursday – Saturday (3 days per week, 12-hour days) 

The Metal Machine Operator will set up and operate a variety of computer-controlled machines such as CNC Metal Punch, Press Breaks, as well as an Inserter which includes a $3.00/hr. skill increment on top of base pay. This position requires working with minimal supervision, utilizing a number of tools and precision measuring instruments, following blueprints/instructions, and performing some basic math calculations. We are looking for people with good communication skills who can learn quickly, exhibit flexibility, and be effective team players. 

 

We value prior experience in a manufacturing environment or operating similar metal machines; welding is not required in this position. Experience with overhead cranes and/or forklift is appreciated but not required. We will provide on-the-job training and/or certification. 

Qualifications: 

Education: High school diploma or GED.
Previous metal fabrication experience is preferred.

Physical requirements include the ability to: 
Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder.
Frequently lift 35 lbs. Occasionally to frequently lift 45 lbs., in some work areas.
Stand for the full shift with planned breaks. The duration of standing between breaks varies from 2-3 ½ hours depending on work area.
Work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.
Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including some awkward reaching to insert components in difficult to reach sections of the product.
Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.
Identify wire and paint colors.
Read fine print.

Must have ability to flex into other areas of metal, such as shell assembly and paint, or into other departments when needed.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Ability to meet all workplace safety requirements.
