2023 Cardinal Careers Expo - An Interactive Event Connecting Cardinals with Industries in the Redwood Area
Redwood Area Chamber & Tourism and Redwood Area Schools are excited to announce the 2nd Annual Cardinal Careers Expo will be held on May 17, 2023, at Redwood Valley High School. This completely interactive experience will connect high school students with Redwood Area business and industries. 9th - 12th grade students will participate in the expo from 12:35 - 3:15pm with interactive sessions led from business representatives from the 4 primary career pathways supported at RVHS:
- Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources
- Health and Human Services
- Engineering, Manufacturing, and Technology
- Business, Communications, and Entrepreneurship
Ally Carlson, Redwood Valley High School Counselor states, "We are very excited for our students to be able to participate in the Cardinal Career Expo again this year. The event is a great opportunity for our students to explore different in-demand careers within our community. In addition, with the event organized based on our four Cardinal Pathways, student will see firsthand the connections between RVHS course work and their next steps after high school whether it's employment, enlistment, or furthering their education."
Anne Johnson, Executive Director of Redwood Area Chamber & Tourism comments, "From the Chamber's perspective, this interactive career expo is a workforce development experience for students that helps address current and anticipated workforce shortages in local businesses. Part of our mission is to support local businesses by providing opportunities to attract their future workforce and get students excited about the great careers available right here in the Redwood Area."
This event is being organized by the Redwood Area Chamber and facilitated at Redwood Valley High School with school staff and student leaders as part of the Chamber's workforce development partnership with Redwood Area Schools.
