The Redwood Area Chamber & Tourism Ag Committee offers a $4,200.00 scholarship to be awarded to a student seeking post-secondary education in the field of agriculture and/or related fields. Applicants must live in or be attending school in a school district within Redwood County.
The $4,200 scholarship is comprised of a $3,200 academic scholarship and a $1,000 AFA Leaders Conference fee. The selected recipient is required to attend this phenomenal leadership conference held in Kansas City, Missouri in the fall. The scholarship is distributed at a maximum of $1,600 per semester. Any remaining balance of scholarship funds will be applied to following semesters if the recipient remains in good standing and in an agriculture or related area of study. The Redwood Area Chamber Agriculture Committee holds sole discretion of this award. The Redwood Area Chamber Agriculture Committee also reserves the right to award the potential of multiple AFA Scholarships and/or additional academic scholarships to additional applicants.
Agriculture Future of America partners with organizations, businesses, and individual donors to provide scholarships to students who are actively pursuing careers in an agriculture-related industry. In addition to enhancing the education and leader potential of rural youth in the Midwest region through community-based scholarships, AFA provides leader and career development training and internship assistance to college students across the country.
