Nancy Hansen Named 2008 Volunteer of the Year Volunteer Service with Thrivent Financial
Local Thrivent Financial Consultant Honored for Helping Others


Rochester, MN, Feb 9, 2009 – Nancy Hansen, CLU,LUTCF,FICF a Thrivent Financial consultant in Redwood Falls, MN has been named the 2008 Volunteer of the Year for the Thrivent Financial Southern Minnesota Regional Financial Office.

Hansen was selected for her dedication to helping others through volunteerism and service last year. She supported the efforts of Thrivent’s Chapter leaders and affiliated congregational coordinators in delivering Thrivent Financial resources to address local needs.

During the year, Nancy gave of her time and talents to help the following organizations: Redwood County Relay for Life, Redwood County 4-H, Redwood Area Hockey Association, St. John Lutheran Church and School, and Kids Against Hunger.

Nancy embodies Thrivent Financial’s mission of compassion and caring,” said Tim Valen, managing partner of the Thrivent Financial Southern Minnesota Region in Redwood Falls. She is very deserving of this recognition.”

As a faith-based organization, Thrivent Financial members are organized into local groups called chapters that meet regularly to carry out volunteer projects, educational programs and fund-raising events. Hansen is an adviser of the Redwood County Thrivent Chapter, which serves Redwood Falls and the surrounding area.

In addition to receiving a 2008 Volunteer of the Year plaque, Hansen was given $1,000 to donate to Redwood Area Chamber Community Partners, the charitable organization of her choice.

Hansen is also automatically included as a nominee for Thrivent Financial’s national Volunteer Excellence Award. National winners will be announced during National Volunteer Week in April.
