Extraordinary is Ordinary

What makes the Redwood Falls Area unique? The people.

'Extraordinary is ordinary' when it comes to the accomplishments, exceptional job performance, and community involvement of our citizens. We pride ourselves in going above and beyond, making our area a great place to call home.

News Director Laura Olson at KLGR Radio in Redwood Falls is the 2008 Lone Ranger Award Winner for the Associated Press.

The annual award honors journalists who work in one-person radio newsrooms
in Minnesota. News Director Laura Olson contributed over 30 stories last
year, second overall amongst all radio stations in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Associated Press recognizes broadcasters each month by
selecting a story of the month. Olson received that award 3 times in the
last 12 months for stories that included coverage of the Lakeview School
Bus Crash verdict, MACCRAY school district in west-central Minnesota planning to go to a four-day school week to save money on busing and heating fuel and tornado coverage in Southwestern Minnesota.

Olson also had a photo published and transmitted nationwide by the Associated Press following a tornado. Other 2008 Associated Press Awards that Olson received at the annual banquet on March 27th included the top News Story of the Year and awards for a news Story on the Red Cross need for blood donations, a featured Story on a mock crash drill at the local High School and the cooperation award for 2008.
